Donation to Karibu

During the month of August, a donation was presented to one of our staff members, Sarah Agius, who forms part of the FTI Supplier Relations team and is also a volunteer member with Karibu Malta. The aim of Karibu Malta is that of raising funds for those less fortunate in Kenya. Many children in developing countries do not have access to education and live in poor conditions, thus suffering of very low living standards. Every little donation will help these little ones live a better life. If you’re interested in learning more about the work carried out by Karibu Malta check their Facebook page; facebook.com/karibumalta/

Ice Cream Solves Everything!

For the fourth consecutive year, and in collaboration with SOTTOZERO The Gelato Factory, the Sports and Social Committee (SSC), organised the much awaited “Ice Cream Munchies”. A cold and sweet treat, in the comfort of our offices in SmartCity Malta, with the SSC tempting the taste buds of those who were tired of keeping up with their summer bodies diet, by offering different ice cream flavours every week.

International Left-handers’ Day

The 13th of August is dedicated to all left-handers out there, and that’s why we decided to celebrate it here at our offices too! For this occasion, we have created a video clip with some of the challenges left-handed people face every day, both at the office and in their personal life, with a good number of the company’s left-handed staff members being the main stars of the show. Haven’t watched it yet? Click the following link to view the video; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVGngnlH1Sk&t

The Annual Summer Party

During the month of August, the Sports and Social Committee organised one of the most anticipated events of the year, the annual summer party, at a farmhouse in Siġġiewi. With the Companies’ colours as the main theme for the event, the committee set the venue to match accordingly. Attendees were also encouraged to dress in those same colours as well. There was food and an open bar accompanied with good music. Staff members had the chance to meet their office colleagues in an informal and friendly atmosphere. It was a fun evening for all those attended.

A Barbecue to kick-start our Summer

The newly appointed Sport and Social Committee (SSC), formed up just a couple of weeks ago, surely didn’t want to lose any time in organising their first outdoor event! With summer just round the corner, the Committee planned, for all FTIAS, MPI, and MPM staff members, an evening at the stunning Ġnejna Bay, where apart from watching a beautiful sunset (and Instagramming it too!) they could enjoy themselves whilst having a bite to eat, from the traditional barbecued food available. For the SSC, organising the event just wasn’t enough. They wanted to give it that extra “oomph” . That’s why “Glow in the Dark” Paint (inspired by Thailand’s Full Moon party) was used, so everyone could get their artistic side out and surprise all attendees with their hidden talents. Hope everyone enjoyed the event as much as the SSC did in organising it.

Father’s Day

Father, daddy, papa, pops, are all names associated with the same role, that of being a parent and raising one’s child in the best way possible! Knowing the huge amount of effort that they go through full filing that role whilst having other responsibilities at the place of work, the Sports and Social Committee (SSC) took the opportunity to surprise all the Company’s daddies with a small token of appreciation, a voucher at a Car Wash and Valeting station, on the occasion of Father’s Day. At least during the coming month, whether filling in as taxi drivers or getting to work, they can drive around in a clean car

Give Blood – Share Life

“Be there for someone else. Give Blood – Share Life”, was the slogan adopted for this year’s World Blood Donor Day campaign, celebrated on the 14th June 2018. In collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Service, we invited the Mobile Blood Donation Unit to visit our offices, at SmartCity Malta, for the occasion of World Blood Donor Day. This initiative was part of the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives to promote community values among its staff members.

The blood drive was not only organised for the Company’s staff members, but for all business partners at SmartCity Malta, and nearby communities. We sincerely congratulate all participants for their support towards this noble cause, and hope to have an even better turnout in our next blood drive, scheduled for the Christmas season in December.
