Donation to the AAA Sanctuary

During the month of May, we welcomed representatives from the Association for Abandoned Animals (AAA) Sanctuary to our offices where a donation was presented from the money collected through the monthly charity days. The AAA Sanctuary is a charity organisation providing shelter to 95 dogs, all abandoned, and most of them coming from the streets. Their mission is to shelter these poor abandoned animals, treat them for any injuries, or illnesses they might have, and place them up for adoption. There is never a time limit for how long a dog...

The Treasure Hunt Series Continues…

Fridays always seem to be the most keenly-anticipated day of the week but there was even more eagerness than usual for Friday 19th May because a team building event was being held on that day, which also brought to an end the programme of activities planned by the current Sports & Social Committee 2016/17. The Committee members left the best activity for last, achieving a record-breaking attendance, through the much sought-after Treasure Hunt activity, in Valletta. By working together as a team, participants needed to answer several questions and provide photographic evidence...

Mother’s Day

To mark Mother’s Day, FTIAS and Meeting Point decided to surprise their employees, who are also mothers, by presenting them with a scented body lotion. The initiative was very much appreciated and there were smiles all around for the rest of the day! As one of the young mothers at FTIAS, Annmarie Scerri commented, “I really appreciate the SSC’s gesture because it shows that the Company understands the difficulties mummies face, every day, being a full-time mother and having their responsibilities at work, at the same time.” (The photo shared on the...

No Elevators Day 2017

In collaboration with ‘Now We Move’, a flagship campaign promoting the benefits of physical activity amongst citizens all around Europe, and with Sports Malta being its agent in Malta, on Wednesday 26th April, FTIAS, MP International and MP Malta, participated in ‘No Elevators Day 2017’. Easter Figolli

Saying that we have a sweet tooth is somewhat of an understatement! And our Sports and Social Committee didn’t need much convincing to team up with Baron Confectionery, prior to the Easter festivities, to organise the sale and delivery of their famous Figolli here. Figolli are a traditional Maltese sweet, baked during Holy Week, which are made out of a fine buttery sweet pastry filled with a paste made from pure almonds. At the end of the day, those who jotted down their names and placed their orders were satisfied...

Kwarezimal

Ah Kwarezimal! Who doesn’t love them? Saying that we have a sweet tooth is somewhat of an understatement! And our Sports and Social Committee didn’t need much convincing to team up with Baron Confectionery, prior to the Easter festivities, to organise the sale and delivery of Kwarezimal here. Kwarezimal or Lenten Cookies are nonfat cookies that are traditionally prepared to eat during Lent. At the end of the day, those who jotted down their names and placed their orders were satisfied, while profits made from this initiative will be going to a local charity. (A...

Freddie Mercury’s Tribute Artist

An extraordinary anticipation had been building up in the run-up to the most recent get-together organised by the Sports & Social Committee (SSC). Why? Because the animation was entrusted in the hands of James Mercury Mifsud, Malta’s best-known Freddie Mercury Tribute Artist! Halfway through the evening, James took over Ty’s Bar, in Siggiewi, where the activity was being held, belting out one popular hit after the other, to say nothing about gyrating his hips and sliding about on the floor!! Needless to say, he was egged on by a very enthusiastic audience, clapping...
