HR & Corporate Communications Section
Christine was born on the 3rd January 1965 and joined the FTIAS team in July 2014 as Human Resources & Administration Manager, where she will also form part of the FTIAS Sports & Social Committee. In a career spanning over 20 years, Christine has gained broad HR-related experience in some very diverse workplace settings, in both the private and public sector, ranging from aviation to rural affairs, telecommunications to the environment, financial services to education.
Christine holds a Master of Science in Human Resources Management and Training, as well as a Diploma in Human Resource Management, both awarded by the University of Leicester. The main focus of her dissertation in part-fulfilment of her Master’s degree was workplace learning. She is also in possession of a Diploma in Journalism, a Bachelor of Arts degree with English and Contemporary Mediterranean Studies as her main areas of study, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, all awarded by the University of Malta.
Upon completion of the course leading to the Postgraduate Certificate in Education, she was asked to join the Faculty of Education as a part-time visiting lecturer, a position she held for several years. On a number of occasions, she was also invited to conduct induction sessions and facilitate focus groups for a leading independent school. Christine also produced and presented two different series of weekly TV educational programmes and, for many years, was one of the TV anchors for the PBS daily news bulletin in English.
Christine is a strong believer in the crucial role that attracting and retaining good talent plays in the success of any organisation and is an affiliate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), the professional body for human resources and people development in the United Kingdom .
Christine lives in Msida with her son, Edward. She likes entertaining, and especially takes pride in preparing curry meals and baking all kinds of cakes. She enjoys having the chance to travel abroad to experience different cultures and always makes it a point to keep abreast of current affairs. She uses her free time to watch films and catch up on her leisure reading. Christine tries to never miss the opportunity to take part in a football match … by rooting for her favourite team, Juventus, from the comfort of her living-room sofa!
Rodianne was born on the 16th October, 1986 and was originally employed with FTIAS Limited as a Data Processing Clerk and was soon promoted as an Account Technician. After few months, as a result of demonstrated competence, and high levels of enthusiasm, she was promoted to the position of Account Officer within the Supplier Relations Section were she was responsible of various products, including Hotels, Car Hires, Transfers.
From January, 2011 till October, 2012 she moved to work in the Processes, Projects and Reports Section as a Project Coordinator, handling responsibility for a number of projects aimed at developing the internal company systems. From the November, 2012, she was selected for an Administrator traineeship within the Supplier Relations Section. She is now responsible for the accounts of You Travel, GLI, FTI Cruises and Hotel Shop.
Rodianne holds a Certificate in Secretarial and Administrative Studies, as well as a Certificate in Project Management and a Level 5 ILM Diploma in Management.
In her free time, Rodianne practices drawing, having continued her studies at the School of Art in Valletta and is also a passionate reader.
Alexander Barbara was born in 1988 and he first joined the company as a summer worker in 2007 and continued doing this for a number of years during his studies at the University of Malta where he was reading for studies in Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) with specialization in Marketing.
As a summer worker, Alexander helped with data processing duties; he was promoted to Technician in 2008. In October, 2011, through demonstrated reliability and trustworthiness, he was promoted to Supplier Relations Officer, and in October, 2012, his designation was changed to Corporate Communications Officer to reflect his on-the-job responsibilities. Due to his consistent effort to improve in whatever he undertakes, Alexander was offered in October 2014 the position of Corporate Communications Administrator.
Alexander is now responsible for corporate communications duties including branding and media and has handled a number of challenging projects in his tenure on the role, including overall rebranding of logos, website redesign, setting of the Company’s social media platforms and others.
His hobbies include socialising, music and sports. He practices football, and plays with Zurrieq FC in Malta’s second division league.
Aaron Attard was born on the 2nd December, 1992 and joined FTIAS Limited in November, 2012. He started working with the company as a Data Processing Clerk, with the BigXtra Supplier Invoice Processing team, and after demonstrating the ability to work efficiently and accurately he was promoted to the position of Technician, three months later. After an additional six months, Aaron was moved to the BigXtra Supplier Relations section and was promoted to Officer position, from September 2013. After additional confirmation in this role he started his traineeship for Team Leader, in April 2015. In October 2015 Aaron moved to the Human Resources and Corporate Communications Department and was able to successfully finalise his traineeship in April, 2016.
During his tertiary education Aaron studied at MCAST and obtained a National Diploma in Information Technology. He is currently undergoing a course on HR and Employment Law to further his knowledge in this field. Course will be finalised in July 2016 and upon successful completion Aaron is interested in taking on another course on HR studies at a degree level.
Aaron is currently responsible for all the day to day HR related duties which range from Employee’s engagement and induction to the point of resignation process amongst other tasks.
His hobbies include watching movies, football and travelling.
